PEIMS Submission Overview

The –F Accountability system depends on responsible data collection and data submissions by Texas public school systems. One of the key sources of data used in the accountability system is the Texas Student Data System/Public Education Information Management System (TSDS PEIMS). School systems load, validate, and submit data ӣƵ via TSDS PEIMS. Critical TSDS PEIMS submission timelines can be found on the . School systems should utilize the report options available through TSDS PEIMS to verify their local data prior to the final submission deadline. The PEIMS data must be approved by the superintendent and accepted by a school system’s Education Service Center PEIMS Coordinator before it can be accepted by ӣƵ. Data Submission Responsibilities can be found on the .

PEIMS Summer Submissions Impact CCMR Accountability

The PEIMS Summer Submission includes data that are used for several –F Accountability College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) indicators, such as Industry-based Certifications (IBCs), and College Preparatory Courses. It was announced on June 20, 2024 that the 2024 PEIMS Summer Submission and Resubmission windows constituted the final opportunities to submit data impacting 2025 Accountability. School systems were also reminded that the CCMR data collected during the PEIMS Summer submissions cannot be corrected through the CCMR Verifier process in the following spring or summer.

2025 Accountability Ratings Appeals Process for PEIMS Working Collection Submissions

In response to districts’ reviews of their 2024 submissions, the agency is allowing districts to complete a PEIMS Working Submission to correct data submitted in the 2024 PEIMS Submission Windows related to College Preparatory Course Completion data errors or Industry Based Certification (IBC) data errors only, and only ratings administered under the 2025 Accountability Rating System Manual will use the PEIMS Working Submission data. Districts should only submit a Working Submission if the appropriate supporting documentation is on hand to support the data submitted.

2025 A-F preliminary ratings on August 13, 2025, will remain based on final data submitted during 2024 PEIMS Submission and Resubmission.

A district will have the option to submit an appeal of preliminary rating(s) during the 2025 appeals window on the basis of CCMR recalculations if the district submits a PEIMS Working Submission and it is accepted by the Information Technology/Data Standards, Data Quality and Business Analysis Division before the close of the 2025 appeal window. As established in , the appeal window calendar dates for the accountability year are announced in conjunction with the release of preliminary accountability ratings in (ӣƵL). If the appeal is granted, the 2025 A-F final ratings released in December 2025 will be based on a calculation of CCMR using the Working Collection data.

TSDS PEIMS Reports provide information that allows data submitters to find errors and inconsistencies in the data submitted to ӣƵ. School systems are strongly encouraged to review the following TSDS PEIMS reports that are especially relevant to accountability.

  • PDM3-120-008 Students with Dual Credit Courses and College Credit Hours
  • PDM3-120-010 Student Advanced Academic Roster by Grade
  • PDM3-120-019 Industry-Based Certification Roster
  • PDM3-133-001 Number of Students Completing Courses by Pass/Fail Indicator
  • PDM3-133-002 Students Completing Courses with Dual/Advanced Technical Credit

School systems also have access to a “PEIMS Percentage of Change from Previous Year” report during each submission window. This provides a year-to-year comparison for additional clarity. More information on these reports is included in the TSDS Project Update.

School system verification of PEIMS data prior to the final submissions is an essential step that helps both the district, and the local system vendor ensure the data entered accurately reflects LEA performance. As a reminder, LEAs, not their information system vendors, are ultimately responsible for the accuracy of the data submitted to PEIMS.

Also, as a reminder, the ӣƵ College Preparatory Course Approved List will be implemented with the Class of 2027 (2028 Accountability).
